…by contributing poetry, artwork, stories, and points of view to our Mental Health magazine.
We wanted to know what people thought about our mental health magazine, Speakeasy, and if there was an appetite for us to resume the production of a similar magazine.
We sought the views of people that live or work in London and have experienced mental health issues and those that care for others who have experienced mental health issues. We worked with a user-led steering group to generate the questions for our consultation.
We visited several inpatient units, held 6 focus groups, across London in addition to encouraging people to complete our online survey. We think we have achieved a broad perspective of views.
The National Lottery Community Fund kindly funded this consultation.
A big thank you
…to everyone that contributed to the consultation, almost 200 people shared their views.
We ran a prize draw for contributors and are so pleased to announce:
James Guy is the winner of the £50 book token
Well done James, happy reading!
We believe that providing this kind of creative platform for people to express their views through different mediums can really help recovery.
The feedback we have received through the consultation has helped us to understand people’s preferences and we are moving forward with a report to help with our bid for funding of our new Mental Health Magazine.
Thank you to everyone that took the time to give us their feedback, we met with some lovely people and really enjoyed hearing your thoughts and views. We will keep you updated on our progress.
